PASSAGE 7

PASSAGE 7           SURA 2:21-22        SURA AL BAQARAH
TRANSLATION
BISMILLAH ARREHMAN ARRAHIM.
21             O people! Adore your Guardian-Lord, who created you and those who came before you, so that you may have the chance to learn righteousness.
22             Who has made the earth your couch, and the heavens your canopy; and sent down rain from the heavens; and by it brought forth fruits for your sustenance; then do not set up rivals to Allah, when you know.

TEACHINGS
(a)     These two Ayaat present the relationship between Allah and His creation of human beings. They also present the conditions of life which were necessary for the human beings to survive on this earth. Allah has created all human beings present today or who came before them. The purpose of creating humanity is that Allahs wants us to follow the way given by Him.
Sura Al Baqarah, Ayat 35 says:
“On earth will be your dwelling place and your means of livelihood”.
(2:35)
Since Allah has provided every blessing to human beings, there is no sense in creating other gods against Allah.
“Adore not the sun and the moon but adore Allah who created them if
it is Him you wish to serve”.     (41:37)

(b)   Ayat 21 teaches us the purpose of our life. The purpose is to lead our life according to the will of Allah. For this purpose other human beings were created and for this very purpose we have been created. Ayat 22 teaches us two important lessons. One is to be thankful to Allah for all of His blessings upon us. Allah has provided us every facility of life on this earth. The second lesson is that we should not commit Shirk at any cost because only Allah could create this earth and the system of water cycle which is the main source of our food. Only Allah deserves all praises and only He should be followed in every matter of life.
“Praise be to Allah, the cherisher and sustainer of the worlds. Most
  gracious, most merciful”           [Al Fatihah]
